Members meeting members

We are camping in Glades RV Park in Moorehaven Florida, about 85 miles from our home in Davie. As we always do, if we see another Seneca, we “must” go up and introduce ourselves, as we “Senecans” are kind of a select group. So we see a beautiful brand new Seneca RB and we go up and meet Olga and Louie. As we begin to talk, I bring up this forum and it turns out that Olga is in fact our very own “Stargazer”. How cool is that? We got to hang around the fire and have a very enjoyable evening with our new friends.

We have now met RoRyan in Silverton, Colorado and SloPoke has been to our home. I just think it is so cool to have “virtual” friends on this forum turn in to real people.

Anyone else meet fellow members? What’s your story?

Every time we go camping I search out fellow Jayco Owners and see if they are aware of this Forum. To date, I have only found one. I always give them info on the forum but have not had any contact back to know if they ever got on here or not.

We were camped in Florida at Rainbow Springs and thru the forum I knew that Kim Gass from JOF was going to be there at the same time.

We were all paddling our hearts out but I did get to spend a short while talking with her and her husband on Thursday.

I created some, for lack of a better term, JAYCO business cards. More like introduction cards. As I walk around the CG, I stop and talk to the JAYCO owners and if they are not there, I leave a card on their door. Many of those JAYCO owners never heard of this forum. So far I have given out over 100 cards, I hope that they joined the forum.

Yes... We met Mark S. while we were staying in HIS hometown last year. Great hosts! We actually got together a few times during our two weeks there... He and his wife came by our campsite one evening, we went out for Pizza another - and had a BBQ at their home on the last.

We have also met TomDen, when they were picking up their brand new Seneca from our dreaded dealer in town.

And along our travels... we often find that the RV parks like to keep the Seneca's together... not sure why, but we always introduce ourselves and suggest that they take a look at JOF.

Hmmm...we came back to our trailer one evening last summer and there was a business card in the door. May have been that very card. On the back someone had written, and not very legibly:

"Yeah I stole the beer. Cash me outside, howbow dah?"

No idea what it meant. I drink gin

We plan to be in Denver, CO in first week of June; anyone close to there? Anyone know any good places to stay?

We're not going to be there, but I suggest Cherry Creek State Park. We stayed there last summer. Great facility.

We also met Mustang 65 (Don) down in Dunedin, Fl last summer. It’s always great to put a face to the name. Over the years we met many nice folks and continue our conversations long after our trips. Great group of folks out there. Safe travels ahead. Jimmyd

I participate a LOT on DIS Boards (for Disney Lovers) and they had a "thing" for identifying the regulars. The LGM, or Lime Green Mickey, is a symbol that people wear or stick on their gear to show they are members. I have a magnetic sticker of Mickey in lime that I stick to the back of the truck every time we head down that way. The idea has faded a bit over the years, but it used to be a real popular thing.

Maybe we could do something like that here? A discrete and tasteful JOF bumper sticker with the Jay's Head Logo placed on the front of the coach or TT could help members identify each other when walking about the campground.

There was a bumper sticker available some time ago and a good many purchased them. Mine is on the back window of my truck still.

I can't even remember who got it going.

Thanks custom Google search! https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...e-10736-3.html
