Mercedes Sprinter spare tire carrier for underneath RV

Our Jayco dealer confirmed that there are brackets beneath our Melbourne to mount a spare tire. I found this on eBay. Has anyone else mounted a spare under your Melbourne? We found the actual Mercedes rim on eBay and mounted a tire so we have a spare. Apparently Jayco removes the Mercedes rims and adds their own so we were initially told we could not get a spare that would fit all 6 wheels. Tires are mounted on 2 different rim styles by Jayco at the factory

Thanks for posing this question. We have been discussing carrying a spare tire but were not sure where to store it in the limited storage space in our Melbourne 24L. If it can be stored underneath, that would be great. My only questions would be if it would interfere with our plans of installing the HWH RV leveler system. I hope there are members out there who have done this.

As far wheels go it must be an option to get different wheels than OEM steel ones. My 24K came with the diesel generator and another option that wasn't standard but with steel wheels with SS hub caps. I am not sure how the spare tire carrier is with the 3500 chassis but I do know the vans need access from inside the rear doors to lower the spare tire. I'm sure either the OEM tire carrier or an aftermarket one could be adapted to fit. As far as interfering with a leveler install I'm not sure.

We are going to order the tire carrier off eBay and see if we can make it work.

Just checking in to see if the installation was a success?
Thanks
