I always tow mine covered. This is what we use - Towing and Care | Geza Gear Stretch Fit Custom Motorcycle Covers

We don't; just happened to take the picture before taking off the rain cover from the night before leaving camp. Wish there were a way to keep it from getting so nasty during travel though!

Bungee on a stretchy cover. It will keep most of the grunge off the bike. A rain cover is not the best idea. We actually use only two; on over the front fender and one under the tail pipes.

We use a Yamaha dirt bike, wr250 on back of our 2015 Greyhawk 29me. If over 10-15 mile ride, wife makes me stop for a stretch or shop as it's not the most comfortable plus we are retired. Works pretty good except in rain and cold. Use a carrier and ramp on back of rv. Quick on off. Have to take it off for slider on back which I don't always do it it's just a quick overnight. Doesn't seem to effect gas mileage.
