Mystery Light Switch

Have a 2013 Seneca and I cannot figure out what the 'Ceiling Lts 1' switch does. It does not appear to turn anything on.

Below it, it says auto with door. Turn it on, then open the door.

On my '14 Seneca that switch controls the overhead ceiling lights closest to the cab. It has 3 positions, "up" is lights on continuously, "down" makes the lights controlled by the entry door switch, "center" shuts the lights off entirely regardless of door position.

If yours doesn't do anything regardless of position you have some sort of problem. Mine has a relay in the circuit that is controlled by the magnetic door switch, if there is a problem with that it would cause the lights to not work at all.

Looking more closely at your picture something stood out to me.

The switch at the top right seems to be the three position switch usually in the Interior lights 1 position.

Now humor me, turn on the one marked Interior Lights 1, go out to the driver's side of your unit and see if the outside light above the sewer compartment is on. Maybe the switches got switched around. Pun intended.

Thanks Robbbyr, my switches are in the wrong spot. I never would have thought about the security light outside. Surprised original owners never got this fixed. Anyway looks like I have some 'switching' around to do. Thanks for the prompt replies!!

Should be able to pop off the top and bottom covers on the switch panel thereby exposing the screws holding the whole panel in place. Once the panel is unscrewed you should be able to pop the two switches rearward out of the panel and move them to their "proper" locations.

Glad I was able to help!
