New 2019 jayco class c 22j purchase

Our first coach. Switched from years of tt and truck. Dw can now share the driving. Dw drove it home from dealer and backed it into our driveway, no problem. I am 77 dw 66, both retired.. Just ordered front mats for e450 cutaway from e-trailer. Can't wait for march. Plan some mods, 4 ft mirror on bathroom door. Already installed piano hinges on storage covers under dinette seats..

22j is a great little unit. Only layout issue I have is that you can't use the hanging locker or drawers while slide is in. You just have to keep whatever clothes out that you may want for driving.

Also I secured screen door magnets (Operate auto steps) with screws. These magnets are very vulnerable to everyday traffic and the double side tape is just not up to the job. First trip out could figure out why steps wouldn't retract. Had to disconnect linkage and tie up to get home. A couple trips later when I found the magnets sitting on the ground did I realize that without those magnets, those step don't retract, even with ignition.
I like the idea of hinges on the dinette storage lids.
It also needs a Slider awning

2019 jayco 22j

In 2019 it came with a slide toper and trim around the bed plywood edge. Keep plugged into shore power all winter to charge coach and chassis batteries.

magnets are on bottom corner of screen door om the hinge side. Opposing magnet is on interior bottom step.
I don't tow yet. We rented car on last trip. Kinda of a pain because you still have to drive the RV to rental office. That works if you can do it before campground and on way out.

I may do the toad thing. I would need a car (jeep wrangler, That's what I'm interested in) to flat tow. I bought a dual sport motorcycle and may place on RV's hitch with hitch mount carrier. I'll see how that works out

I went with a cheap cover for this winter. Of course I tore a big hole in it the first time using.

thanks for info on magnets did not know. rental car go to ENTERPRISE, they will pick you up at cg. to rent car. WHEN RETURNING CAR THEY WILL DRIVE YOU BACK, AT LEAST THE PLACES I CALLED..DID YOU HAVE AN ALIGNMENT DONE? BIG DIFFERENCE IN DRIVING.INSIST ON AT LEAST +5 TO +5.5 ON CASTER. DON'T COVER OURS, TOO MUCH OF A HASSLE. CONCERN WOULD BE RUBBING THE ONE PIECE OVERHEAD BUNK AREA....

I haven't done alignment but I probably will do that this year. I have not enjoyed driving this thing. It has not been relaxing to drive on the hwy, as it is very sensitive to road, wind and passing traffic. I have read that an alignments with those values can help. I suspect that the short wheel base dose not help and if I put a 450 lb motorcycle on the back it not going to help.
I do find it surprisingly a good driver (For it's size and weight) on the tight back roads to get from the hwy to the campgrounds

Cover I have is very secure with all the straps. Plus where I park it, it is surrounded by hedges and trees so not much wind. I'll see how it does when I remove in the next couple months

Some more stuff, i use 303 aerospace protectant on tires several times during the year. It contains a uv protectant plus keep tires covered also even when camping. We ride motorcycles for many yrs including 6 week trip cross country to calif. On a goldwing. No longer ride, too many people on phones and texting, your the looser every time. I am 77 and dw is 66. Keep in touch...

2019 ford e450 cutaway front mats

Weather tech does not carry custom mats for ford cutaway chassis so ordered and received front mats by husky from etrailer. They fit like a glove, dw happy so I am happy. Part# hl33251 if anyone is interested.

2019 jayco red hawk 22J VALVE STEM SUPPORT

The unit came with valve stem supports attached to steel rim. They are made by dicor made of plastic and can break. Question are yours installed on steel rim or chrome cover. Mine are on steel rim.

I have the chrome covers but haven't really looked how they are supported.
It that time of year to get it ready, add air so I'll have to look.

We do too but have to remove them to check air pressure so added 1 1/2 inch extensions. The stem support is on the steel rim under the chrome covers

Interesting. I do not have to remove. Its not easy and I cut my finger badly on the inside lip of the chrome cover just before a big trip of course. The angle of the stem and my air gauge and filler do require some effort to make solid connections.

Have you adjusted your tire pressure for easier ride?? Dropped ours down to 70 psi all around. 80 psi just shakes the unit very bad over rough roads..

New 2019 jayco 22j purchase

Do you have 100 watt solar panel? The 22j is pre wired for it.
