New Redhawk is Finally Home!

Just brought my new 2016 Redhawk 26X1 (it's on the Chevy chassis) home this afternoon. This is my first RV, so it's been fun going through it and learning about the coach. I have a few questions for my dealer but if any other Redhawk owners have the answers, it would be much appreciated:
1. Does the kitchen window come with a screen? All other windows (except the emergency window in the BR) have screens. Curious why this one does not.
2. The clothes rod over the shower is supposed to be standard, I believe. I can't find it anywhere in the coach.
3. The brochure lists a Blue-ray DVD player with HDMI hookup as standard equipment. My coach does not have it.
4. How come I don't have a second ignition key?

I've sent a note to my salesperson at the dealership but his wife was having surgery so, I'm cutting him some slack for a lack of response.

Attaching a pic of the new addition. Can't wait for the first shakedown. Click image for larger version

Congrats!

Yes, the kitchen window should have a screen.
Yes, you're supposed to get a shower clothes rod (are the brackets installed?).
Forget the DVD player... that was supposedly a "misprint" in the brochure.
Yes, you're supposed to have a second ignition key.

Whoever did the walk-thru with you should have caught all of that stuff, and the sales manager (or whoever took care of the paperwork) should have given you a second set of keys.

Did you get:

The 15a to 30a electric cord adapter?
The water filter removal tool and the water filter cartridge?
The blue zippered Jayco bag with all of the manuals and paperwork?

Did they demonstrate and test all of the appliances and systems in the walk-thru? Ours took over two hours, and the few issues that came up were fixed right then.

Good luck and ENJOY. The first night, we slept in ours in the driveway! :-)

Congratulations on the new Redhawk.
We have a screen in the kitchen window and the clothes rod. The F&I manager gave us the extra keys at closing. No Blue Ray, but we bought a nice Sony pretty cheap. My salesperson told us that "specifications change". No worries, the Blue Ray we got is probably better than factory supplied anyway.

Actually, the walk-thru was quite thorough and took a couple of hours. I even created a checklist but it's nearly impossible to know what you don't know. I checked the blue zippered Jayco bag and no second ignition key. The brackets are installed in the shower, but no rod has surfaced. I did not receive an adapter but had previously purchased a 30amp to 15amp, as well as a 50amp to 30amp converters along with surge protectors. The water filter was installed and the tool was in the blue Jayco bag.

Love how the Chevy drives and I understand that this is just a personal preference but the steering was much tighter than the Ford and the handling was better. I felt like the Ford drove more "truck-like", while the Chevy's suspension was a little softer. Drove straight on the interstate and very little sway when passed by semi's.

The dealer washed and detailed the coach before delivery and the unit looked great for the ride home.

Glad to see that you got the slide covers... they work great!

Now I'm working on how to put doors on the ends of the dinette seat boxes, to make it easier to get in them!

I think I made the right decision with the slide toppers although it delayed delivery of my Redhawk when the dealer received the wrong size. It will hopefully keep the slides clean and extend the life of the seals.

I spent the day getting the new MH set up and stocking it. I also made a sink cover out of a cutting board I picked up at Walmart. Now, I need to make another for the second sink bowl as soon as I get back to Walmart to pick up another. I'll post a pic in mods as soon as I get back into the coach to take a picture.

The Logans, I have to say thank you to you and Mudduck for influencing my decision to go with the Redhawk. I've lurked on the JOF site for a while as I was contemplating my decision as to which brand/size to go with. The two of you provided compelling arguments, as well as great, specific information about your Redhawks that it helped influence my decision.

Congrats and best wishes! I really like that Redhawk 26X1. If I ever move up to a Class C that model would be at the top of the list.

Gosh, the 6 speed is incredible better than the 5 speed... Quieter, doesn't downshift constantly, better mileage, and we're now able to use the cruise control much more... Even downhill.

We only kept the 5 speed 23XM for 18 months before we traded up to the 26XD.

You'll love the floor plan!

Enjoy!

We just bought the same model, 2016 redhawk 26x1. I was wondering if any other owners noticed a seam in the kitchen countertop right behind the sink. I noticed it when we looked at the unit and told the detailers about it. I think this would be a weak area for water to enter the countertop and cause a problem. I am not sure what their fix will be?
