New tires

Has anybody switched to 215R85/16 tires on their Class C ?
They are 1 inch taller than the 225R75/16 tires and a little narrower.
I'm thinking the duals would run cooler, more airflow and it would raise the chassis height a little bit along with having a tad bit higher rear end ratio.
They both have the same load rating.

I might be needing new tires, Im going to check the date on the 225R75/16 tires that are on there now.
Tire calculator says with the 225's.. If your speedometer readsmph, you are going about 57.1 mph with the 215's.
So they are pretty close in size. Should be good to go.
I bought the Greyhawk in May so if it has older tires, I will go with the 215's.


UPDATE: Tires were built 1116. So a around 2 1/2 years old. Should be OK for now.

I've been thinking when needing new tires to go up a size and get commercial tires ... 17.5in delivered to door and balanced.

they say these type tires last twice as long as the LT stock so it will save in the long run.

I'll bet the stiffer sidewalls on those 17.5" tires would greatly improve the handling of these things. Tradeoff might be a decrease in ride quality. Would be interesting to hear from someone who has done it.
