New to Class A

Just bought a new 2015 Precept 31UL. Lots to think about because we are leaving for Texas the day after we get it, On Wednesday. Question?? Usually when we are ready to leave for a trip, I would bring my Greyhawk home from storage and put on a 30amp extension cord with a conversion plug that allowed me to plug in to my home. Now that I will be a 50amp user, can I do the same thing? Do I need to buy a 50amp extension cord and a new conversion plug to plug into my home? Will all services on the Precept work this way?

Congratulations on your new coach! We have a Jayco Seneca which also has a 50-amp shore connection. I do connect it to one of the 20-amp outlets on the outside of the house while we're loading up using a 50-to-30 dogbone connected to a 30-to-20 dogbone. I avoid using the high-current items like the microwave, a/c or heat pump, etc, but I haven't had any issues with TV's, lights, fridge, etc.

Hey Bob, welcome to the world of class A. CONGRATULATIONS. Keep us up to date on your experiences.
Questions?????? drop 'em in here.
We haven't had a problem with pantry room. Our 5er had huge pantry area and we never really used it. We don't store a lot of dry goods. With the 12 cf fridge we have room for all we want cold or frozen. The pantry items are put in the cabinet directly behind the sink and the overhead to the right of the sink.
Plates, cups, etc are in the cabinet to the right of the micro.
Cookware, etc in the drawers below counter.
Silverware & all utensils in the pull out drawers.
Light weight storage containers, mixing bowls, etc are in the overhead above the sofa.
We were surprised at the space we had even though it was considerably less than the 5er.
Safe travels...............think warm thoughts for those of us frozen to the flag pole.

Yes. As anav8or states. You can use 2 different pigtails and plug your 50 amp unit in to your 20 amp recepticle. If you do. Only turn on the fridge and a few lights. No A/C, micro, or TV.
If you must operate any electric stuff (besides fridge), you should fire up the generator. As opposed to 20 amp supply.

Welcome to the Precept lifestyle! We are loving our 31UL Like Darrell, we have not run out of storage space. Have plenty of room for the dry goods and kitchen stuff and gladly trade the larger pantry for the larger fridge. Enjoy!
