New to me Jayco Seneca - transfer switch question

Hi

I just bought a 2008 Jayco Seneca that recently had the transfer switch replaced. It was replaced with a progressive dynamics #pd52dcsd.

I have a 30 amp 120 outlet at my house and am trying to test shoreline power (generator works great). I’m using the 30amp to 50amp pigtail. The contactor on the transfer switch engages but does not “stick”. It will repeatedly try to switch to shore line.

I looked around and found a troubleshooting guide for the transfer switch that has this note:

NOTE: FOR MODLES WITH SURGE PROTECTION THERE MUST ALSO BE 105 TO 130VAC PRESENT FROM HOT2 TO NEUTRAL.

I read this as with this transfer switch I won’t be able to run at all on 30amp 120.

Hoping someone on here is more familiar (this is my first rv) with this type of transfer switch

Thanks

Unless you have a bad adapter you should have 120 to both legs.

If it was due to using the adapter you would not be able to go to many campgrounds since not all provide 50 amp service and an adapter is required.

Sounds like there is another issue causing the problem

That makes sense. I’ll keep looking. Appreciate it.

There is a number for Progressive Dynamics on the cover. Call them and a tech will call you back. You may need to reset the surge protector. I have a pd52dcsd too but I don't know how to reset it.

I also HAD 3 of the Progressive Dynamics PD52DCS Automatic Transfer Switches. I have talked to the Technical Support a number of times. Reset was never an option. Rebuilding was never an option. Only replacement was the option. After the 3rd failure, I removed the Transfer Switch from the line and now when we are not plugged in to shore power, we are hooked to the generator by a female plug hooked to the end of the power cord in the compartment that holds the power cord and I know when I fire up the generator I'll have 110 volt power. Simple and 100% effective.
