New Windshield Cover

Got my new Adco windshield cover for Harvey the RV today.
Easy peasy to install, five minutes.

Now a nice windstorm is coming up, so we will see how well it handles a west Texas wind.

Cost: $45
Shipping time: 3 days

Everyone seems to say that these really cut down on heat from the cab.

I couldn't get it to look as smooth as the pictures..of course putting it on in a windstorm may have had an affect on that.

I love mine for the heat reduction but more importantly, the privacy. We spend a lot of nights in truck stops or Walmart parking lots and I know that when I get out of the shower to get dressed, no one outside will die from a heart attack.

We have the same windshield cover as well. Really well made product. Holds up pretty well in moderate wind. I am going to add a few more magnets on the bottom to hold it down better in some of the stronger wind situations we have here in Montana.

Survived

The cover survived the 40+ MPH gusts from last nights thunderstorms and did not even seem to move as far as I could tell...

Question

This cover looks great. Glad to hear it's holding out to the wind. I'm definitely going to pull the trigger on this. Has anyone looked into the "deluxe" version of this...ADCO 2507 with the rollup windows...so that you can have a view..if wanted..but there is still some amount of filter. Here are the pics I've found. I'm thinking of going "deluxe", but not sure it's worth an extra $15. Thoughts?

I thought about those, but I just needed the heat protection and the privacy. Not quite sure why I would put up a privacy screen, and then remove the privacy part of it...

I've had one of these on my rig for storage for just about 3 years now. It's not bright white, but its never blown off.

I don't take it with me camping; I use heat shields when I'm camping.

My '08 Seneca cover looks and works like that. I use mine for privacy but prefer the quick release hook and loop to easily open the panels for a view during the day.

I hear the wind gets under the Velcro and blows the covers off the screens.

I've heard a lot of things but haven't heard that rumor.
We haven't had that problem with the hook-n-loop closures. They are large and there are some for each side and top.

I bought this a week ago, and have used it once already...and I like it very much. The DW says it looks like the camper has a sleeping mask on

It connects to the camper in 4 ways...just to give some perspective.
  1. Loops around the top corner of each door. You actually close the door on it, after you've hooked it around the top corner of the door.
  2. Magnets. The ends of the cover has magnets embedded. Seems strong and keep the cover touching the van.
  3. Velcro around the mirrors. The cutouts go around the mirrors and the velcro connects underneath the mirrors.
  4. Windshield wipers get placed on top of the cover. Helps keep the bottom area of the cover on the windshield from coming up.

So while I haven't experienced high winds...it feels very secure to me. My biggest concern is theft...since it's on the outside of the camper.

The windshield cover I purchased (check beginning of thread) has been through several west Texas thunderstorms and the associated winds and has not budged and inch.

I have the cover that you can open up to see through it. Didn't think I needed/wanted but got it anyway. It is nice having the option to open the front window or the sides. So far no problem with wind, stays on pretty good.
