Talking NEWBIES and excited!

Completely new to this world. We received our Jayco Redhawk 2016 31xl three weeks ago and are already obsessed after two small trips! We are heading to Minnesota to surprise our children and grandchildren on Memorial weekend. We haven't told them...we are going to call them and simply say "we have a surprise- we bought a second home." Our two sons will be freaking out trying to figure out which of them lives closer to our new location.

Yup, they will be shocked. We hope to have all four little grandsons in the bunks by dark!

Congratulations on the new Redhawk and welcome to the forum.

"... all four little grandsons in the bunks..." priceless.

Congratulations. Sounds like everyone will be thrilled with the new house. One of our favorite road trips is visiting our daughter's family in Tennessee.

Have fun.

Congrats, and you'll be thrilled with the 6 speed transmission! It's quieter, smoother, and gets better mileage.

Happy and safe camping!!

We're just going into motor home ownership, but we've camped for 45 years from tents to trailers. I can tell you, if by "completely new to this world" you mean you've never camped, you'll love it. It's like no other lifestyle on earth. We live for a good road trip.

Thanks for the heartfelt welcome! Yes we are new to camping altogether. We were previously hotel junkies. Yuck!! I'm over being pushed around by hotel chains and poor customer service! Look forward to stumbling into some of you down the road! Will probably be asking many questions!!

Welcome to the world of RV'ing !
Give the grandkids as many good memories as you can. It's a wonderful way to spend time together and spoil them.

Enjoy

Welcome. I too am a newbie with a Jayco Redhawk 26XD. Having lots of things going wrong but still excited about the prospect. Was on a trip this last weekend and the hot water heater wouldn't heat and when we pulled in the awning I thought one of the "arms" was gonna break before we got it in. Not sure why that happened. Already had to replace the valve to get the water running inside. Hope i don't have a Lemon!!
