No Brake Lights on Greyhawk

While returning from a camping trip yesterday I found out that I have no brake lights or rear turn signals. Reverse lights work. I was pulling a trailer and the lights on the trailer were fortunately working properly. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? My first troubleshooting effort will be to check fuses but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I just replaced the bulbs. Think it might have had something to do with when I connected my trailer lights. Working g fine now.

Doubt it was due to plugging in the trailer. If it is a factory installed wire harness, the trailer plug is on its own fuse, under the hood. It is operated by a relay between the two circuits.

My problem turned out to be two blown bulbs as well. I figured it must be the fuse or wiring since both were out, but nope it was the bulbs.

Jagiven, I agree that it doesn't make sense that plugging in trailer lights would be the problem. I do have two others that told me that they experienced the same thing while plugging in their trailer lights. Anyway, time will tell.

JDSport what was the number of the Bulbs . Sounds like something to keep on hand

The Ford E450 manual calls for a 3157LL. I could not find that bulb at the parts store with the correct base. I replaced with an 1157 and that seems to be working ok.

1157LL is the long life version of the 1157 standard tail and stop light that has been around forever . Worth having a couple in emergency travel repair kit . Thanks

the 1157 and 3157 bulbs MAKE SURE you DONT touch them with your fingers.. use a clean Kleenex to hold the bulb.. The oils on your fingers will adhere to the glass and with the heat generated by these bulbs will cause them to fail faster

Do any of you know the difference between the 1157 LL and the 3157 LL? Both have 2 filaments and are 2 amp.
