No water while traveling
2016 Jayco Redhawk
Water was working fine while hooked up.
Filled the tank. Monitor shows "full"
Changed controls from "city fixtures" to "normal"
Turned on water pump. Indicator is lighted.
Water won't work.
Checked circuit breaker for water pump. It was on, but I turned it off and back on to be sure.
Water still won't work.
I don't see "water pump" on the fuse list. Maybe some other fuse pertains to the water system?
Any ideas? I would like to have water for my trip.

Remove the filter trap on the input to the pump and clean it. Hand tight!

Can you tell me where the input filter it is located?

When you turned on pump switch did you hear it start running? Water pumps are generally noisy. If no noise, electrical troubleshooting is indicated. Since they are 12-volt it should be on a fuse in the power panel. It may be on the same circuit as something else, so you my need to check other fuses. But with indicator light on it is possible it does have power and the problem may be a connection or something entirely different.
Has it worked okay previously?

Yes, it has worked previously. I do not recall hearing the pump - I will turn it off and back on to check.
I will double-check the fuses, also. The labels aren't always accurate.
Thanks!

Find the pump. It is screwed on to the water input. I can't tell you where it is located. Maybe someone with that rig will chime in.

Thank you. While I wait for more replies, I will Google a schematic for my rig.

If the pump does indeed come on, just not deliver water, I would also check the inlet strainer as Norty1 suggested. It will be right near the pump itself. Likely has a clear bowl that you remove to get to the strainer screen.
Good luck!

After checking the obvious fuses, I would check if there is power at teh pump with a multi meter. If there is power there and it isnt running to pump up the pressure then you are looking at water supply to the pump ok? No valve there to stop water getting to the pump? or pump itself may not be working. When you first turn it on it should try to prime and you will hear it do this.
If no power there then tracing back to the fuses is the next step

on our little X213 I have to open a valve between the pump and the water tank to get water to flow from the fresh water tank to the tap. If water pump is running *very* quietly and no water flowing that may be the problem.

I have never associated the word quiet to any dc pump I ever had, even with the suggested insulation and isolation of the lines.
If you ever use it, the general location is very obvious.
I just had this very thing happen to me and was amazed how easy it was to fix once I got to the pump!

Water Working!
THANK YOU to all of you for your suggestions.
I checked the fuses, and none were bad. However, after checking them I re-tested, and the water worked. I conclude that one of them must have been loose - even though I checked for loose fuses at the time I checked the circuit breakers.
I located the water pump and will be cleaning the filter. I will be careful to hand-tighten only.
Blessings to all of you.

I just ran into the following onna brand new Redhawk 26XD:
City Water = all good
Normal w/ pump switch on (and running forever) = no water
Solution: While still hooked to city water, switch to country fill (and maybe every combination of those 2 valves). Tried again, pump shut off and water pressure held steady.
Note: The water filter by the pump was full of plastic shaving too.
Note note: This was after fixing "no hot water" by finding bypass valves cleverly hidden under and behind refrigerator vent.

In other words dealer didn't fill the tank, run the pump and show you where the valves were. Everything they are supposed to do before letting you leave the lot.

Yeah, but I did not push them. I even had the 11 page checklist from this site! It was a Friday afternoon pickup and I knew with this forum and google help I'd get 'er done. I'm now camping in my driveway for this first night. Tried absolutely eveything out I could think of. So far, NO ISSUES!! Woot woot!
