Norcold fridge vent fan mod
I plan to add 2 vent fans for norcold fridge. Any advice or suggestion which red wire I can use for the fan. Really appreciate it.

Nutz - I did mine last year, can't recall which one I used. But my memory is telling me I used an existing **green** wire as the 12V source.
I do recall it was easy to find a 12V source with my multimeter.

I would tap off the +12 volts supplying the fridge. Use an inline fuse and then run through either a thermal switch or standard switch to the fans. A voltmeter will verify constant 12 volts.
If you are trying to tap into a line that is only hot when the fridge is running, you need to take into account what added load the fans would add to the circuit you tap.
What model Norcold do you have? Often you can download wiring diagrams.

I did the modded mod - I used two large 120mm 12V PC fans. They don't take up a lot of current. And I used the Temperature Relay off Amazon. I think it was $5. The fans only power on after the temperature exceeds a set limit.

I bought two of AeroCool Silent Master 200mm Blue LED Cooling Fan EN55642 12V DC from amazon and I removed the LED light. Do you have amazon link for temperature relay? Is it easy to install?. I don't have norcold model with me right now. I will get it this weekend. Thanks

If your Norcold is a 4-door model it likely has a thermostat and existing fans.
I’ve replaced my fans twice and they’re a pain to access, fridge removal is required. The thermo is mounted on the cooling fins and is visible from the top vent.

If you can provide an image of your input power options that would help.
I found the main 12V power feed to my frig. I created a wye, using a few Schotchlok spade connectors, that went between the power feed and the frig power input. The new tap off the wye feeds my fan. If I ever have an issue I can easily disconnect the fans, and/or the wye, and revert back to the OEM configuration.

Not sure which model frig you have in the 26Y, but in my 29MV (N8X Norcold model), there were a couple of unused spots on the main molex connector to the control board that are used to provide power to optional features like vent fan, ice maker, cold weather package, etc. I just fashioned pins using copper wire and solder wicked in, then pushed into the unused spots. This provides 12VDC that turns off when the frig is powered down. I don't have access to my rig right now, but if you do a google search for the service manual for your Norcold model, it should have the wiring diagram and pin out.

Yes - very easy. I played around with it on my table to get the hang of it first.

I’m pretty sure that green wire is constant 12 volts. I tapped mine with a switch to turn them on constant as needed.
