Officially Own a Entegra Esteem 29VE.

After agreeing to a awesome deal 2 1/2 weeks ago. I finally flew to Sacramento to get my Entegra and drive her back down to San Diego/Chula Vista. To say they were busy is an understatement. Motor homes now, are like what toilet paper was 2 months ago. The guy handling my paperwork said he had at least 10 more to do and told us he didn't charge my card for the deposit because if we changed our minds, they had 3 more people asking to buy ours . I didn't even get a starter kit because they ran out, but I would've replaced all that stuff with better items anyway.
Surprisingly the only issues that immediately needed addressing were the tank pad heaters dangling off both tanks some trim that needed stapling, and some drawers that were rubbing along the door catches. All the electrical and plumbing worked fine, and the A/C's worked as they should on shore and 1/2 and full load with genny.
On the drive home , it was kinda weird. 1/2 of the trip felt like the coach needed an alignment because it was pulling towards the left, but once I got past the Grapevine, it was smooth enough to where I could let go of the wheel and it would stay in the lane. And we found out that there was no strap holding the cab over tv in place when it made some noise when the coach was bouncing.
I know were in the honeymoon phase of owning this thing, but I really love this coach. And I know, sooner or later I'll be asking for help from you guys on some things, like the energy mgnt system. The walk through guy didn't know jack about that or which outlets are powered by the inverter. Since I was in a rush to get home, La Mesa Rv is letting me bring my rig into the San Diego dealer to do a 2nd walk through and schedule my 2 month follow up appt sometime this week. The only bad thing is I can't get out of my head, is the number of times I heard that joke ,"RV'ers only need 2 things- tools and a sense of humor".

Congratulations on adding your new member of the family!!

I would suggest speaking with Jayco and request a front end alignment from a reliable truck center. There is a time limit on having this performed.

My first mods were the steering stabilizer from Safe-T-Plus, and the Davis TruTrac from Roadmaster. https://www.roadmasterinc.com/produc...c/trutrac.html

Ha Ha... LOL

My wife is threatening to hack into my Amazon account and change my password. After a year, I thought I was done with all the upgrades, addons and repairs....

Nope..., ordered another $160 in "necessary" parts today from Amazon....

It's an addiction....

LOL!! I was going to mention you needed to add a Prime membership to your "essentials" list!!

I get a "budget" for our toys. We have 2 Jeep Wranglers and the motorhome, so I don't get to do all that much these days. I have to do my mods in "batches". Unfortunately, repairs generally go against the "Mod" budget too... It's a good thing though; if I wasn't constrained to a budget, we'd have NO money for other stuff ... you know, like food and water... LOL!!

I actually created a list on Amazon and whenever the DW is ordering something she will include the top one or two items from my list to the order. I always make sure the first items on the list are high priority or "I really want" this items.

In my case it is her account that we use. She does not have access to my eTrailer or Outdoor World accounts.

Same.

And she doesn't have access to my Quadratec account either. Remember J-E-E-P = Just Empty Every Pocket!! I've been known to slide a Quadratec or Extreme Terran order under the "radar" a few times! Sometimes it's better to ask forgiveness...

For your tank heaters (mine did the same thing) get yourself some of the black Gorilla tape and put it on them. Clean the area with some denatured alcohol first. They will never come off again.

I've seen MANY people recommend Gorilla Tape, and I must have gotten a bad couple rolls or something. While it's far better than standard duct tape, I've never had good luck with it in "exposed" areas. Even with good surface prep.

That being said, since Gorilla tape is SUPER easy to get, and I have at least 2 or 3 rolls laying around, I would give it a try first. Would save me from having to order something else if it worked.
