Oil change and warranty

I bought a new 2019 jayco 24k with a Mercedes engine in February 2019. Computer says “Service Schedule A” is due in 6 days. According to the owners manual Service Schedule A is nothing more than an oil change, which I’ve always done myself. Question: if I do the oil change myself, does it effect my warranty? Also, what is the procedure for resetting the computer after servicing?
Thanks!

A call to Mercedes will get you an answer, on exactly what documentation is needed, such as receipts for oil and filters.

I can't answer your resetting question, for Mercedes, but my Toyota has a service reminder that shows up on the instruments. I have two trip odometers, "A" and "B". After I change the oil, I reset the "A" trip odo to "00000" per the manual instructions, and the reminder resets for another 5000 miles. It's probably not much help on yours, sorry.

Legally you can do all your own maintenance, and the OEM cannot punish you for that work. If you do it wrong, that is a different story. You also do not have to show proof. It maybe helpful if you need to contact Mercedes if you have any issues.

As for resetting the computer, I bet you can find that information in your Mercedes owners manual or on google.

Years ago I had a run in with Honda who claimed warranty expired because I did my own oil changes. Had a state of Illinois ombudsman in town ( since abolished ) who made one call and they backed down.
I do keep a notebook in my car and records every service from the day I bought it. I include date, mileage, type of service, if done by a business I record who, where and receipt number plus any warranty. example, wipers, mileage, date autozone, 6 months. Saves a ton of time and arguements.

From thee Federal Trade Commission's site.

Tips To Avoid Warranty Issues

Here's how to get the most out of your vehicle's warranty:
Keep all service records and receipts, regardless of who performs the service. This includes oil changes, tire rotations, belt replacement, new brake pads, and inspections. Create a file to keep track of repairs; it will come in handy if you have to use your warranty. If you ever have a warranty claim and it appears that you did not maintain your vehicle, your claim could be denied.
Bottom line, no receipts = no proof = manufacturer is in the driver's seat. Believe what you want but it is in writing.
