Ideally an inverter should be next to the batteries. If not follow the battery (large) wires, eventually leading to the inverter. ...follow the money (wires : )

Circuit breaker reset...

Sounds similar to problem I had in Precept 29v. My GFCI breaker would not reset. I took it out to replace it. Toggled it while out, put it back in and it has worked fine ever since. I think it simply did not have enough space in the box to fully reset when toggled. Otherwise, did it happen on generator owner? There are breakers on the front of your generator panel also.
