Outdoor temp sensor placement
Greetings,
We have a 2015 29me. Just purchased a small weather station to mount inside the motor home. It also requires an outside sensor. I walked around the outside looking for a place to possibly permanently mount it...couldn't really see a good spot. If I hang this on a tree or something similar I know I will drive off without it. What have some of you done with this?

Ours is in the wet bay. Our Alante has a little holder mounted to the left wall that we put the filter wrench in and the remote temp sensor. This gives us outside temps and in the winter lets us know if freezing may be an issue those times when we don't winterize so we can use the water.

Hanging under the steps. See when putting the steps up preventing me from leaving it.

In My travel Trailer, I hang in inside the propane tanks cover.

They are all great ideas, but I have one more I first tried it under the A/C cover on the roof, well ventilated seemed fine but I felt the heat of the A/C would ruin the accuracy, so my best spot was on the angle iron rail for the Generator. Does a nice job and is direct to the weather.

Mine's attached to the antenna on the roof using stainless steel zip ties. Not ideal as its not supposed to be in the direct sun.
I thought about moving it and using the twist ties to attach it to the ladder.

We own a TT, our outdoor sensor will be placed in the top drawer of a four-drawer Sterilite tower that sits atop a table under our awning. It is out of the direct sunlight to avoid skewed outdoor readings.

We had one on our old hybrid. I had attached the sensor to the bumper mount to the spare tire carrier.

Before my weather station died, I had the sensor attached to the TT's ladder (under a step). Worked fine.

My old TT I ran a screw into the siding to hold the sensor while camped.
The Jayco gets the senor dropped into an awning arm. Yup, find it still there when we set up again.
I'll stay subscribed to this thread to see if an effective idea shows up.

Thanks for all the great ideas! I like Abingdon's idea Lol. I think I am going to look around the generator, or propane area, it can be easily concealed in these areas. I will post a photo when I mount it.
Thanks again,

Since I have a 5th wheel, I have an easy solution.
But wherever you mount it - consider a magnetic mount - see my post HERE
