Outside Radio

I have a 2015 Seneca HJ and recently mounted the sony radio head to the outside radio location. I could get the radio to power up and function but could not get any sound out of it?
The outside TV sound works fine.
Anybody have this problem or know the solution to fix it?
Thanks

Dale

I'm an audiofile but can't understand your question. Could you be more descriptive and maybe I can help you.

More than likely it's mis-configured settings in the head unit (radio).

Do you have the owner's manual for the radio?

You mention that the TV sound is okay, is that playing through the Sony DVD/radio and its attached speakers? Or is the TV just playing through its own built-in speakers? I thought the 2015 models had the same Sony as my 2014, so attached is the manual that may help with troubleshooting.

I can tell you initially my Seneca did not have the TV's audio output hooked to the outside Sony's Aux input. I had to add a RCA patch cord myself and then it was great!

One additional note - My Sony died a while back and I replaced it with another unit, a Boss. Same functionality and works great.

TV uses the TV speakers.
I will go through the set up instructions and see what happens again
How did you add an RCA patch cord-more details.
Thanks

When I could not get the TV to play through the stereo I was able to to see the connections on the outside TV and determine there was nothing connected to the Left and Right "Audio Out" terminals. Then I slid the Sony stereo out of its sleeve using the supplied removal "keys" and found its (unused) "Aux Input Audio In" connections. So then I obtained a 3' RCA patch cord and connected the TV's audio out connections to the Sony stereo aux audio in connections. Then by selecting "Aux In" on the Sony the TV sound is played through the Sony's speakers and volume is controlled by the stereo.

I have attached the Sony's installation instructions, they may also help as you work through this. Also attached a link to the type of patch cord I used, they are available many places including Walmart.

Another question for you guys on this issue. Will my main stereos XM radio play over this auxiliary stereo outside? You would think that all stereos would play over the speakers but I do not know if this is the case. Maybe it’s just a set up issue on my part.

I don't know what rig you have or your particular setup, but on my 2014 Seneca the cab stereo cannot send its sound to the outside stereo speakers. Only the outside stereo head unit is connected to those two outside speakers. So while I have Sirius in the cab, I do not outside.
