Power problem

Pligged into shore power. Tv sometimes cuts off. No power to outlet. Wait 5-10minutes the little lite comes back on. What is causing this.

I have not heard of this exact description before.

I would suspect you have a loose wire. The tv circuit is daisy chained to the gfi in the bathroom with all the other outlets. Only exception is the microwave outlet.

So if all the outlets are acting up. I would state in two places. The gfi in the bathroom, check for a loose wire, and the circuit breaker panel. The connections behind the circuit breaker panel are know to be loose.

On most tts, you have to pull the panel to gain access, MHS somethings are a bit different so you may have access from above. Just remember there is also 12v to the panel to for the fuses. So disconnect both the shore power and the battery, before pulling the panel. Also note it is a rats nest of wires behind the panel, usually you will not have easy access.

On a recent trip, I lost power even though I was plugged into shore power. The shore power cord is connected to a junction box located in the back of the compartment the holds the shore cord. The shore cord is wire nutted to the wire that goes to your converter. Mine was loose so I had an intermittent connection.

Just a thought! Does this only happen when you are plugged into shore power? If so check that your inverter is turned off and see if it still occures.
Most inverters, when when connected to shore power and turned on, are flow through allowing 120V power direct to the TV receptacle and will switch back and forth between shore power and battery on low 120V AC power. If you lose 120V AC power with the inverter on, or your out boondocking and want to watch TV, the inverter will then convert the 12V DC battery power to 120V AC.
As I said, just a thought and one more piece to the puzzle.

Might not be the RV's fault (pun intended). Some campgrounds have less than good electricity and the supply box may be miswired causing shorts?
