Shouldn't be too bad. But it'll be heavy. Remove the cotter pin, the pin that connects motor arm to stairs. Lower stairs. Unplug electric harness. Remove ground bolt (or cut the wires). I think four big bolts hold stair assembly to frame. Maybe leave controller up there for now.
Once you get the heavy metal down and out, the motor assemble is 3 or four bolts. The controller, the same -- 3 or four.
