A new converter/charger, wiring, TV, micro, ref, etc.

One short jolt w/o a surge protector/analyzer could fry everything.

We used Progressive EMS (30 amp) Saved our TT 2x. We sold the TT and ordered a 5er (50 amp). Definitely buying one for the new purchase.

Progressive Industries EMS. Tweetys usally has the best price.

Working as camp host at Lake Catherine State Park last year and the electric company dropped a leg to the entire park. My Progressive shut the power off and back on when the problem was fixed. A lot of units lost all kinds of electric electronic equipment none with EMS lost any.

I've used a Surge Guard model 34830 unit for seven years. It has surge protection, over/under voltage protection, reverse polarity warning and digital readout of current and voltage. A few times it's shut off power due to low voltage.

I have the external progressive surge protector. However, my RedHawk has a small storage cubby housing my power cord where it is permanently attached to the RV and gets locked and stored within. I cut the cord, around 3 feet long, put a male 30 amp connector on it, and turned the rest of the cable into a power cord adding a female end. I now lock and store my surge protector inside the cubbyhole. Great piece of mind, protects it from weather and thieves!

I’m trying to visualize it. Do you have a pic of the mod?

Yeah, but with it plugged in inside that compartment, you can't see the readout to see what's going on.

I just hang my portable EMS at the pedestal, and use a cable lock to secure it from "walking" away. Depending on where the pedestal is, I can look out the window from the rig and see the read outs.

I have the Hughes internal and everything is displayed on the cellphone app. No need to open the external compartment. The app also keeps a record of all readings.

If you have a Hughes with Bluetooth you get the read out on your phone anytime you want and it will send an alarm when something's is not up to par or whent it shuts off.

But that wasn't what I was replying to. Johnynorthland has the Progressive, NOT the Hughes, (as many others here do too), so the display is on the face of the EMS, and there is no phone app.
