Propane issue
Good morning- long post warning
I just bought my 2017 Jayco a few months ago. I went camping in in Quartzsite Az to find I had no heat, hot water, stove- thought I had no propane. After four days, I went to have the tank filled- it was full. He even turned my stovetop on worked perfect ( of course) They said I may have a bad regulator well, I didn’t have time to fix it before I went out again- with a full propane tank. Now here I am again, no heat, stove hot water. I light the stove and the flame is very low, the heater may blow heat for a minute then blows cold.. is the actual propane not working because the gauge/ regulator is bad? Is this something I can fix.. I don’t want to get frustrated, I am taking a bunch of small trips in preparation for doing this full time in a year. Help, tips and advice greatly appreciated.

A quick test is to turn off the propane valve at the tank and then turn it back on slowly. Sometimes if you open the valve quickly it will think there is a leak and it will greatly slow down gas flow.

Thank you so much, I will try anything at this point. My regulator is showing empty but a neighbor here at the camp ground said it’s full ( he used some sort of gauge) sure shows how vulnerable we can be with these darn rigs I’m determined to be as wise as the people on this site soon!!!!

When you have some time, read up on this online free basic training.....called Jayco Universary. It may help you get started and make you more comfortable. Don't hesitate to read and ask questions.

Welcome to the forums. Regulators are easy to swap out. Some gas pipe tape (different than plumbing tape), a couple wrenches, and ten minutes of work and it's done.
But, I'm guessing shutting it down, waiting five minutes, and slowly reopening is going to solve the problem.
