Propane Quick Connect Adapter

My 31F has a propane quick connect, but my grill and propane fire pit connects to the standard propane tanks. Is there an adapter available? I’ve search Amazon but can’t seem to find what will work.

The issue you may have is the grill and fire pit that hook up top a regular propane tank have a regulator on the hose. To connect into the motorhomes LPG quick connect to have to remove that regulator. The quick connect is already low pressure.

When I converted my Weber Q a few years ago I bought the necessary components from Amazon and did the work.

Here is the link to the thread I started on the Thor Forums regarding the conversion. It includes the parts list and links to the parts on Amazon.

https://www.thorforums.com/forums/f2...pg-4875-2.html

BTW, the conversion is still going strong with the Accolade and after almost 4 years of use.

In most cases it is doable. But a lot depends on the grill and fire pit.

The fire pit is probably the easy one. The hose supplied with the unit probably has a regulator on the end that connects to the tank. Then there is probably a flame control valve somewhere on the fire pit itself. So you can remove the existing regulator and replace with a quick connect fitting. It might be easier to replace the entire hose to get the length you desire. The MH's regulator already reduces the pressure to the required pressure.

In theory the grill is exactly the same. However not all grills play quite so friendly. So, if it does not have a hose and regulator, I recommend posting which grill you have and someone probably can tell you how to make the change.

Post your grill make/ model and someone may be able to point you to an existing thread. It’s not a unique problem.

I’m thinking this might work for the grill to the RV quick connect:

Actually, that probably won't work. Reason is, the propane coming from the rig is already pressure reduced. If you use that hose and the regulator on the griddle, you'll be reducing the pressure twice, and won't get the required amount of propane to it.

You'll need a hook-up like this, it will bypass the regulator that comes with the griddle:

or this:

I just bought one from Amazon that hooks to the quick connect on the rear of our White Hawk and screws into propane grills, etc, in the place you would screw a 1# propane bottle in. They come in several different lengths. Just search rv propane hoses on Amazon. I bought the short one for around $20.

Do these just connect to the griddle where I would hook up the propane tank?

TwinDad, easiest solution is to post what grill you have, and a solution will be found almost immediately.

If your not sure, post a picture and someone will recognize be able to tell from the key components what will be required.

Unfortunately, like Retired One mentioned above, your propane supply at the quick connect is already regulated (at the tanks), and the grill has it's own regulator where the small canister threads on. That regulator needs to be removed from the grill. It won't work with double regulated propane, and you won't be a happy camper. I use a hose to connect our grill to a separate 20# tank, so I didn't need to remove the regulator from it. Our quick connect is used for the outside 2 burner stove that hangs on the side of the TT.

Yes, where the propane tank connection attaches to the grill. There is a male screw on stem sticking out the side of the grill. That hose screws onto that stem, and you just plug the quick connect into your rig.

Here is a thread on the topic. https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...ion-60267.html
There are many others.

I looks similiar to my Weber. The propane supply from the camper is already regulated so you will need a QC hose that will by pass the regulator . It's a pretty common modification. I would want mine to also work with the propane bottle.

I have this same griddle and have done the very thing you are asking about. You need a short length of propane quick connect hose and one of these adapters
Good Luck and stay safe
