propane tank

Does anyone know it the propane tank can be hydro tested in the RV
or does it need to be removed, or can it even be removed and taken to a
testing facility. I'm told they need to be tested every 10 years and mine
will be due next year. It's an 09 M-31 FS

I would call a couple of propane businesses, not just a refilling facility, and ask if frame mounted RV tanks need recertification. Portable tanks fall under DOT guidelines, and fixed horizontal MH tanks are ASME guidelines. I'm only going off experience when I had a MH in the early and mid '90s.

If it's a fixed tank, double check the requirement. I am sure they are not 10 years like a portable tank, I would verify that with a propane supplier as stated already.

Thank you, I didn't know they came under different guidelines. I will check.

Just be sure you keep it painted. One of the requirements is it be free of rust to be filled.

The propane fill port on my 2005 Greyhawk is leaking. What size are the threads on the tank side of the valve. Tank is already empty.
