Real world mileage - Melbourne

Couple of days of driving. Too much actually. Had some deadlines to make. So pushed from Maryland to Ohio, over the Alleghenies, and got 13.9. But, Cleveland to Madison hit 15 on the button. Load is not too bad, but heavy enough. The headwinds and crosswinds were intense sometimes, so it did not surprise me to see the windmill farm coming across 30. But I know 7 plus hours is just to much. Have a birthday party to make in Minnesota. Most definitely going to invest in some dampeners for the leaf springs in the back. And then go from there. I promised myself to wait to buy anything to see if I really needed it. Case in point: I thought I wanted blind spot cameras. My father, who was hauled sand and gravel for 29 years, would tell me “use your mirrors and use them well.” Of course he was right. The “old man” as we called him was dead on. Using the regular mirror and the blind spot mirror can’t be beat. Dad always said it’s about being alert. Always know what’s around you. Now - would I like a rear view camera that can see traffic and not just be used for backup? Sounds good. But again, I’ll make that decision after I have a few more miles. Happy trails to you.

Those MPG ratings are consistent with what I get in my 2020 Melbourne Prestige. Thank goodness that the diesel is cheaper than gas, huh?
