Rear camera questions

Jayco/Entegra has the backup and side cameras routed into the in dash stereo monitor in my 2024 Odyssey. I don't really like looking down into the dashboard to see the monitor as it distracts me from the road. My old rig had the monitor mounted in place of the rear view mirror so it was at eye level where I could take quick glances at it while still watching the road. I want to replace the rear view mirror with a monitor to the windshield mount for the mirror. The only ones I've been able to find attach to the existing rear view mirror with rubber straps, not the most secure mounting method.

Has anyone else replaced theirs in this manner and if so what make/model monitor did you use? I found the junction box under the dash where the camera leads come in then the lead goes out to the stereo system monitor so I'm assuming it's a matter of finding a monitor that uses the same type of plug. I'm not an video guy, I'm a ham radio operator so most of the electrical issues are not a problem, just haven't dealt with camera setups before. Also, on the new units, does anyone know what brand camera is used on the rear? My old one was a larger Furrion model, the new one is incorporated into the third brake light so I'm figuring it will be a major PITA to try and replace the camera with a better one, particularly trying to route wires to the front.

Any advice, suggestions or experiences? Thanks
