Rear TV

Obviously my 2014 Redhawk 31XL doesn't have a tv in the bedroom. My wife would like to go shopping for one tomorrow. What is the max size I can put in there? I'd like to get the largest tv i can to fit in to the cabinet...

also recommendations on swingarm mount i could get to function well?

Thank you

If you look at the current Redhawk RV models, see what size is offered for the rear bedroom. Don't forget that you're not as far away from the bedroom TV while in bed.

I only see the 32" tv offered for the front. I have a local RV dealer I'll try to run into and see if they have some Jaycos for sale.

Our 2015 Greyhawk came with a 24 inch Jensen P.O.S. 24 inch is plenty big enough to see from the bed, so I swapped it out with a Sony 24 inch TV/DVD combo since the player is built into the dash radio, which is okay for out front, but not easy to control from the bedroom, not to mention, that the surround sound speakers are up front as well. Also, if one of us wants to watch something different, without bothering the other, we have that option.

Thank you. I found some great deals on 24 inch. Do you have yours mounted? Trying to find a good swing arm. Instead of just propping it up on its internal legs. Wife wants what she wants. I'd like to find something that works well.

I'm using the 24 in Jensen, That's what I was leading to about not getting a TV that is bigger then necessary. Just make sure of the sound quality, cause the sound coming out of the Jensen TV sucks!

That's my 2 cents worth.

24 is fine. I appreciate it. Some good Vizio and Samsungs on sale right now. Grab one of those.

Check the picture on the TV you are considering at the angles you will be viewing when installed. When viewing while in bed the picture on my Seneca's TV is horrible.

Also make sure it is capable of hooking to digital cable. Jayco replaced my large TV with a brand (Seiki?) that does not have a built-in QAM tuner and cannot view digital CG signal without a converter box.

That's why I'm going with Samsung or the Vizio. I haven't figured out the mounting issue yet. The tv is easy now.

Hey timbo1083, I modified my existing mount because it didn't tilt down. What a stupid bracket for the manufacturere to use, because you can't see the TV lying on the bed. I put 3/4 " spacers and longer bolts on the top two TV mount bolt holes to tilt it enough to see from the bed. I looked for a replacement mount but couldn't find one that would fit in the same location. Sorry I can't provide any pictures as my rig is in storage until the spring.

No that's a great idea. Will any swivel arm mount for that size work? Gonna pick one up from amazon or something. Also. Where is the mounting point for it? Sorry to be a bother.
