red hawk 24b

Hi there
I'm new to this site and I am not sure where this post should go.
I will be a first time owner and looking seriously at the red hawk 24b.
I have seen some issues, like the shower step in fells like it is dropping.
Can anyone give me some advice with issues or positives?
Thank you in advance
Gloria

I assume you mean the shower floor feels like it is flexing? Seems like the all flex. Sometimes it is an issue, as the p-trap connection breaks.

When you decide to buy, tell them you want it reinforced as part of the sales agreement. Assuming your looking at a new MH.

Good luck.

We have had our 2020 Redhawk 24B for a year now. We love it and have had no warranty issues after 8 trips. The shower floor also has not been an issue.

Good luck!

Just remember

An RV is a house constantly in an Earthquake... So things will happen

I'm almost 2yr into my 25r and love it, ya a few issues, most I've fixed due to the 2 week + time to have the dealer fix it

Get it
Drive it
Love it
Fix it

And have fun

I am one of many owners of the 2019 24B during the first year of production. I recommend you do a search on this site and you will find hours of reading material that will be well worth your time.

Haven't had any flex on the shower floor in our 2020 24B. Did have a slide issue (search for 24B slide) and the dealer worked with Jayco to get it repaired. All other issues I have resolved.

There are some upgrades you may want to invest in like a Maxxair 7500 automatic vent fan in the bath that lets you drive with the vent running and you can set a temp and it will operate without your input .

I installed a digital thermostat for more precise AC and furnace operation and I installed a bypass disc in the (very hard to get to) water filter.

Put a Dometic 310 porcelain toilet in the bath. This is so much more comfortable to use and allowed us to install a bidet to cut down on TP.

You will enjoy the 24B but do keep some tools handy. No motorhome made yet is maintenance free.

Had our 24B now for 14 months Two long trips, several weekenders. Make sure you don't overload the bathroom cabinet, or the refrigerator door. Both issue with us. We've put in some upgrades, the best being a second house battery. Read up about the Jride suspension needing tightening.

I had to have them add a shim to bottom of my fridge door, wouldn't latch

Never an issue since then with it

The 24B is an awesome unit and one of our best sellers. You may want to also look at the new 26M Redhawk. Can't go wrong with a Jayco class C. Many brands out there but I have never found one that give you what a Jayco does for the money spent. Good luck in the search.

Have you considered the Entegra Odyssey 24 B? Same floor plan with many upgrades over the Redhawk. Our dealer had the Jayco and Entegra priced the same. It was a no brainer to go with the Entegra since they were priced the same.

@msherw, do you recall the brand or model number of water filter bypass disc? I really don't like where the stock water filter is located and would like to bypass. Any help or info you can provide would be welcome.

Hi, i just left the cartridge out of it, when winterizing just uses 1/2 gal more, no issues. Our filter is in a place that one would have to be about 2 feet tall to change cartridge. Use external filter. We do not drink the cg water, just for cooking and coffee. Bottled water for us...

Thanks @msherw. We are planning to use an two stage external filter down to 1 micron and a UV filter under the sink for drinking water. The internal filter on the 24B seems superfluous and we’d like to bypass it.
