Redhawk 24B Chassis

Does anyone know what company Jayco uses to do the Ford e450 chassis extensions? We just purchased a new 2024 Redhawk 24B and noticed a drive line noise during the demo. Service manager at Ford truck dealer is saying drive shaft wasn't balanced properly when chassis was lengthened by whoever does that for Jayco. We're supposed to be getting it replaced with a new shaft but I've been trying to find out who Jayco uses for this on their new c class motorhomes in case we have an ongoing delay in getting the part. Unfortunately RV dealership has been pretty weak in following up for us. I know that's not a surprise to any of you.

Before replacing the driveshaft, I would do a search here and perhaps elsewhere with the keywords "driveshaft, shim, bearing" There have been many reports over the years regarding a driveshaft hanger bearing that if it is not shimmed properly the driveshaft will seem to be out of balance and the real issue is that a shim is needed to be added (or removed, I don't remember) to the hanger bearing. I don't remember who did the chassis extension, but I would bet that the hanger bearing is the issue as was the case in almost, if not all of the similar reports. ~CA

BTW Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forums (JOF)

As a 24B owner the answer to your problem is to take both shims out of the carrier bearing that is hanging to low. You can visibly see it. All other advice about replacing and balancing the driveshaft is BS. Us early owners have already been through this. However your slide problems that you will experience later on do not have a simple solution.
