Redhawk vs. Greyhawk - Difference List?

Hey Gang,

Is there a definitive list of differences between the Greyhawk and Redhawk? Something concise and to the point? Going through the standards list provided for both models online leaves much to be desired.

Thanks much.

Biggest difference is no second airconditioner option on Redhawks. Not even offered. Also no leveling Jacks (option on Redhawks standard on Greyhawks). Rubber roof on Redhawks not one piece fiberglass like Greyhawks. JRide on Redhawk Vs JRide Plus on Greyhawk. Many little things but those are some of the bigger ones that stand out.

According to the specs the Redhawk also has less insulation in the roof? Perhaps a thinner roof? Formica instead of solid surface counters? There is a relatively steep price difference between the two models, but a Redhawk w/ slide toppers included for 10k less then a Greyhawk one wonders where the 10k went.

Oh, no heat pump on a Redhawk.

It'd be nice to have a full list.

Just a few more things. The running boards are larger where you step into the cab. The two privacy doors in the Greyhawk are wooden pocket doors instead of accordian type in the Redhawk. I don't think the Redhawk has the camera's in the rear view mirrors. The lack of a second air conditioner alone would would put me in a Greyhawk.

The 2nd AC isn't a option on the Redhawk 26XD or Greyhawk 26Y. Shorter coach.

The second a/c isn’t a option on ANY Redhawks. Just to be clear. You are correct that shorter Greyhawks don’t offer or need a second a/c.

The key here is no Redhawks can be optioned or purchased with a second a/c. Only larger Greyhawks offer that option.

Others...plastic toilet, different window shades, different front door (doesn’t have frameless window or window shade), countertops, cabinets, front seats, tv’s, outside baggage doors, running boards, rubber roof, and on and on.

Nothing wrong with a Redhawk. It’s just different. I do think they are a bargain for the price. It would just be silly to buy one and then try and upgrade it to match a Greyhawk. That would cost more than just buying a Greyhawk to begin with.

I understood that differentiation though it wasn't clear in my response.

Yes, and you save some weight there too. The industry standard is anything over 26 foot needs a second AC, but they sell plenty of the bigger ones without it.

Those 2 models are 28' and change. Cutting it close.

Very close to putting a deposit on a Greyhawk 26Y that is on order at my dealer. My Sunseeker has left us with a lot of buyer’s remorse.

Just FYI...check out the Entegra Odyssey units. More Greyhawk in nature, I believe. Esteems are the higher level.

Bummer about the Sunseeker. They were on my short list when we were looking. Happy Jayco shopping!

I'm Class C shopping also. Even though Jayco makes Entegra there are differences.
These are messages that I got from Jayco/Entegra:
Hi Richard, The Entegra Coach Class C’s are manufactured by the Jayco Motorhome Group on the same line as Jayco’s Class C’s. When determining how to build the highest quality product to add to our lineup, maximizing the hundreds of years of collective expertise of our Jayco Class C production team made perfect sense versus building and staffing a new line with an inexperienced team. There are differences between the various models. For example, the Odyssey has a front cap windshield and an ABS Molded Cab over with cubbies and cup holders. Hope this helps!
AND
Entegra Coach is actually part of Jayco. Jayco purchased Travel Supreme in 2008, which is where Entegra Coach originated. Initially, Entegra diesel products were manufactured in the same building as the Jayco gas products. Entegra diesel products moved into a new building in 2015, leaving the Jayco Motorized products in the original plant. When we introduced the Entegra gas products last year, we began producing them on the same line as the Jayco Motorized products. So, Jayco isn’t necessarily making Entegra products “for” them, but they are built together on the same product line.
The Entegra Odyssey is actually comparable to the Jayco Redhawk, while the Entegra Esteem is comparable to the Jayco Greyhawk

I am leaning towards the Entegra Odyssey. I have seen them advertised for less than 62K
Looks like a winner for our first RV ..............or a Greyhawk

We are just doing research but I really like the Entegra also. Both lines are appealing.

I wish there were more owners on here.

Newbe here, just took delivery of a new 2018 Entegra Esteem 29V and looking forward to the first outing. Coming from a Thor Chateau this is quite an upgrade.

Norty1, I mentioned Entegra as I just picked one up a month ago. I have the Odyssey 31L bunkhouse. I did look at the Grayhawk as well, but really liked the cab windshield as it lets in a ton of light. Really worth looking at all three to see what you like. I believe the Odyssey has the improved ride with the helper springs, etc.

Yes we had a bunk house but the grandkids just won't use them and so the esteem 29V has 2 slides and it seems there is a lot more room.If I can figure out how to post a picture I will lol

The Esteem is sweet, no two ways about that! This is our first RV, so it was kinda a compromise of sorts. Wanted room for more as I have 4 kids, 3 of which have left the nest, but I know all too well that they'll sign up to join us here and there . Believe it or not the purchase was the better half's idea, as her family had a trailer when they were kids. The Odyssey seemed to have a bit more to it than the Redhawk, and the pricing was decent.
