Refrigerator Door

Anyone having issues with the refrigerator door opening up while driving ? (making turns down mountain grade) etc. Took it one time to the dealer to fix.

The other day coming down mountain I made a 90 degree turn and the dang thing swung open ! Had to put a bungee cord to keep it closed.

Never had that happen. But we do put travel rods in there before we get underway.

Our class-B refrigerator door did that twice... then we added a bungee.

Sounds like the latching mechanism is busted. Their is also a locking device on mine, but we have never had to use it. 31FS from 2012.

Is it those little (white) sliders that both the freezer and frig have right above each hasp ?

I believe so, I can tell you for sure in a couple of days when I get it out of storage. We hardly ever latch it closed and it has never popped open in travel.

Those little white sliders are so the refrigerator will not close when it is turned off I do believe. Helps to prevent mold from occurring inside a closed up and turned off refrigerator. Our door has never come open during travel.

I load our refrigerator door with drinks and condiments, etc. This makes it heavy and always swings the door open on turns during travel. Those little white sliders must be door locks, as they have always solved my problem. Guess I will have to consult my Norcold manual for clarification as to what their purpose is.......
