refrigerator while driving

I'm setting off from home and want to put food in the refrigerator of my Jayco 22C. Will the refrigerator be operating? What settings do I need? thanks!

The general answer is yes and there are numerous threads here on this if you use the search feature. However, the best process is find your manual, turn the fridge on a medium to medium high setting, be sure your hooked to 120v and your propane is on. Be sure the propane is getting to the fridge and turn the fridge on. Allow it to pre-cool for at least a day and if outside temps are high two days would be better.

There are remote temp gauges that will help monitor the inside temps. Once you are pre-cooled, load the fridge up, switch to propane and be on your way but monitor the temps while traveling. They will probably raise some and if you are worried about that it helps to load the fridge with frozen water bottles to help hold temps.

Also the RV needs to be within 3* of level (at least mine does)
Read ur manual several times before you go so there’s no surprises (ask me how I know)

I see this all the time and I keep mine as level as possible.

My neighbor across the street pulls his out of the ally and up in front of the house, plugs it in and turns on his fridge two days before leaving on trips. I am talking on the street, with the right side of the camper leaning much lower on the right, as most streets are. He does this all the time. I asked him one day if he actually has his fridge running, and he said yes, why not. He has never heard they need to be level. He's also never had an issue, and he's been doing this for years. Go figure... I told him about the "need" to be level and he just laughed. He said he doesn't even worry about being totally level when out camping, and I believe it since he does a lot of hunting with his rig.
