Remote door unlock issue

I’m having an issue in that my 2017 Melbourne won’t unlock sometimes with the remote. When this happens the automatic step won’t go out also. The only way to get the remote to work is to turn the ignition on to position 2 or start the engine then it will work just fine. This is the second time in about a week this has happened. My 2008 MB Navion did the same thing also but did it more often Has anyone else had this issue.
