Removing dinette/replace with recliners.

I have a 2005 Jayco Greyhawk 24SS. E450 V10 with only 13K miles!

We want to remove the dinette and replace with a couple lazy boy wall hugger recliners. Have about 74 inches to work with.

Any opinions and advice is appreciated. Any do's or don'ts ? Any slick/safe ways to put a couple hooks through the floor to strap down the chairs when driving....?

Thoughts?

Thanks!!

Lots of folks have installed RecPro recliners in their units. They're designed for RV applications, so they are meant to be secured to the floor, and they're not overly expensive for what you get.

Hopefully some of those folks will chime in here for you, but you can probably search "RecPro" using the forum's search function for some educational reading.

This is definitely on my list (replacing the couch in my unit), but "other" stuff keeps pushing it down in priority.

I removed the front hide a bed on our Seneca and replaced it with a Recpro 72" power recliner set, here is a link to my post on it.

Removing the dinette would be pretty straight forward, just start removing components, the table is screwed to the wall and on our 2018.5 it looks like the seat bases are just bolted/screwed to the floor. You will have some screw holes in the wall to cover or fill in but thats about it. Before we got our Seneca I did the same thing on our Winnebago 26P, I unscrewed everything and bagged and labeled all the parts with pictures. Put it on a pallet and shrink wrapped it all up. When we sold it, the couple didn't like it not having a dinette and I told them in about an hour, the dinette could be back in and they wouldn't know it was ever moved.....and they bought it.

You may get more traction if you post this in the Class C forum (instead of the Super C forum). In any case, I removed the two booth seats from mine and I didn't have any issues. However, I would first look carefully in each booth on the floor and make sure nothing is installed that will prevent you from having a flat floor. I went with comfortable kitchen chairs instead of the booths, and removed the j-sofa where I installed dual recliners. There was a power box under the sofa, however it was not in a location that caused an issue with the dual recliner. ~CA
