Repairing gutter strip above slide out. our

First DYI repair. Found the drip gutter above slide out is separating from wall. Determined that two of the screws went missing and adhesive finally failed.
This not the house gutter at the top edge of roof, But the one several inches below roof edge and inches above the slide out and only the length of the slide out.

What type of adhesive is best for this application?

What is the best method to clean off the old adhesive and corking before putting it back up with new screws.

BTW I working on a 2015 Greyhawk 31FS

It's not adhesive, but butyl tape.
