Exclamation Replacement head units?

I absolutely abhor the soundstream system in my '16 31fs. the bluetooth phone option doesn't work properly, i'm guessing they never installed the microphone since no one can hear me but i can hear them on phone calls.

there's plenty of available options out there for replacement according to crutchfields 'what fits my car' search system (you just have to make sure to pick ford e-450 a year older than what your coach is)

what has everyone already used to swap out?

also, when using the crutchfield search found this crazy huge screen jensen head unit that might be hand for some of our old eyes

I have not done a head unit for the RV but have replaced several in other vehicles over the years. Crutchfield is very good with help if you call them.

As to which brand, I have had Alpine, Jensen and Kenwood. The last two that I did in my trucks were Kenwoods because Kenwood uses Garmin and I did not have to worry about the GPS vendor going out of business and leaving me with a map system that would not update. There are higher end units but I had good luck with all of the above.

The mic is not something that is hard to hook up. You have to pull the unit, of course, to get to the plug but that might be an option, unless you are just tired of it and want it to go away

i am tired of it, especially the extremely poor visibility on the cameras (supposedly improved by using decent aftermarket headunit)
and if going to pull the headunit to try to fix the mic, might as well replace it lol

Yeah.

But pumping hundreds into this thing after spending *thousands* on fixing other things isn't high on my list.

completely understandable, we haven't had to spend 'thousands' yet since we just bought it, used, it's only been 'hundreds' (so far)
