Review of RedHawk Mdl 23XM

We currently now have a Holiday Ambassador 32 diesel pusher and are considering downsizing to a mini so my wife can drive it. She won't touch the current MH. We tow a CRV wheels down.
I like the compact nature of the RedHawk 23XM with a small slideout.
I am looking for owner feed back on the RedHawk brand and that model/length in particular. We intend to continue to tow wheels down.
Are there any issues with the 450 Ford chassis. It states that it can tow up to 7,500lb. The CRV is at 4,000. We are going to get lifters installed.
Any information and guidance would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

We had the 23XM for about 18 months.

It was a nice size, and VERY maneuverable, there wasn't anyplace that we wanted to go, that we couldn't get into.

That being said, we just traded up to the 26XD, for the following reasons:

The slide came out the back of the 23XM, so we couldn't carry our bikes.
We travel with dogs, so the extra room in the 26 was welcome.
The 26XD is only 36" inches longer, but seems much bigger due to the large slides.
The 2016 models have the Ford 6 speed Transmission... quieter and better mileage.
I wanted a couch... sometimes the dogs let me use it!

We really love the 26XD, and it gets over 11 MPG... so all is good. Both the 23 and the 26 are small enough so we don't have to have a toad, and that saves us a bunch of money!

Let me know if you need any more information... It's amazing how much extra stuff you can get the dealer to throw in, before you sign!

Good luck and happy camping!

We are 6 months in on a new 2016XD. My wife has driven both the 23XM and 26XD. She was completely comfortable with both. It is only 2 of us most of the time. Love all aspects of this coach and as the smallest Jayco, the room with slides out is amazing. The Logan's have done several notes on their XD and the couch is nice additional space. Mostly personal space preferences. Either will allow easy travel and overnighting everywhere. Try both. We purchased ours with the levelers for 59965. Out the door. Good luck! Jayco makes a superb Class C.
