Roof maintenance

Looking for some information concerning roof maintenance. I didn’t see it in the 2019 Jayco Melbourne manual.

Is it a rubber roof? What kind of cleaner is recommended? What kind of UV protectant is recommended? I have used 303 marine and aerospace protectant on previous Motorhomes.

Not rubber, TPO by DICOR... same process applies.

Some people wash their roof and treat with 303 or other treatments. I do at least once a year but I do get up their at least twice a year to inspect the roof.

I would very much recommend inspection of all the edges, the sealant around the vents, antenna, etc. on the roof. The major cause of roof problems is leakage that goes undetected until damage has been done. If you have not done it a visual check is not enough. Take a fingernail and see if the sealant will come up or is loose. If it is, read up on how to do it and repair or replace with Etearnabond.

Lots of good you tubes on roof maintenance and research it on the search function in the yellow line near the top of the page.

I have the Tan TPO roof and have always used 303 Aerospace Cleaner and Protectant. Holding up well at near 5 years. Do it once sometimes twice a year, in the Spring. I do mine while in covered storage, when nice and cool.
