Room for Weber Q 2200??

I am in the process of buying a new 29MV. While I am waiting for the delivery in a couple weeks I'm researching portable grills. I like the overall size of the Weber Q 2200 and if it will fit in the larger storage compartment I will get it on order.

I measured several different Class C models at the dealer and the larger compartments all seem to be 19" deep. My guess is that the position of the chassis frame restricts this dimension and since all of the Jayco Class C's have the same outside width they all pretty much have the same cargo hold depth of 19". The Weber Q 2200 is advertised to be 19-1/2". I am not sure if this is a ball park or a firm number. I am hoping it is shy of the 19.5" enough to still fit in one of the cargo holds.

Is there anyone out there who has the Q 2200 and can tell me if you are able to fit it in one of the Jayco Class C larger cargo holds? Based on the advertised size I may have to drop to the Q 1200 but would like the additional grill real estate of the 2200 if I can get it to fit.

Thanks!

I am not sure which Weber I have, it’s a few years old and a friend gave it to me but it fits beautifully in my Greyhawk 31fs. If I can figure out how to upload a photo from my iPad I will show you.

I have my Weber Q2200 in the rear passengers side stow along with several fold up chairs. It fits fine. I don't have the stand for it so it is just the grill.

Perfect. I am thinking that the 29MVP has the same size storage compartments as the 29MV so I think I should be good for it to fit as well. The alternative is get the Q1200 which is really only good for two people and often we would need more cooking area.

I appreciate the feedback!!

I have the Q1200,Q2200 and Q3200... so definitely a fan...but the Q2200 doesn’t seem to get as hot imho as the Q1200 or Q3200... at least for steak searing.....ok for hamburgers/hotdogs though. Also the Q1200 will work for a family of four. It’s smaller/lighter and the one I take camping with me. I realize this doesn’t answer question of size and whether the Q2200 would fit but thought it might help you choose between the Q1200 or Q2200.

That's odd you find that it does not get as hot as the 1200. I have a friend who has the 1200 and 2200 and his 2200 damn near turns red. The 1200 heats to 100 degrees less than the 2200. I supposed there is a fair amount of variation in production lots. I just ordered the 2200. I will get it set up test it out.

Thanks for the reply!

So I received my Weber Q2200 today. The actual depth measures 18.5" not 19.5" as advertised. So it looks like this confirms your findings CAG that it will fit into the Jayco C Class larger storage compartments for the 29 MV or MVP at least. I suspect that it is pretty much true for all models.

I would like to get the stand as well but want to also make sure that it will fit in one of the larger compartments. I cannot seem to find the folded dimensions of the cart. Does anyone happen to have one they may be able to pass on the dimensions. I am pretty sure it will not sit flat but think that it should be able to stand on its side in one of the larger compartments.

Thanks!

I have one of the stands you can pick up from Lowe’s. I’ll try to remember to take measurements tomorrow. You want overall height, width and length with grill mounted or stand by itself?

Just the stand itself in the folded position.

Thanks a bunch!

Dimensions are 28x21x25. When folded it is about 6 inches high. Well worth the investment. I have been using mine for about 3 years now.

Same same here,love em both

I have an odyssey 25r, has the outside kitchen, with the little fridge

Pulled the fridge, since I mainly boondock camp, put my Honda 2000 geny there
Added mounts for straps on the counter and the WeberQ sits right there

A table and the Barby Stand sits right on top

Works fantastic

Just what I needed. I am thinking it should fit with no problem in one of the bigger storage compartments in my rig.

I see you are using the fold out trays for their intended purpose! CHEERS!!

Also, thank you for your service!

EA37TS you beat me to it.

Remember to keep those Q’s in great grilling shape: https://www.weber.com/US/en/blog/bur...ber-30507.html

I also like to take and pour water on the grate while they are at the hottest to “steam clean” them while using the stainless bristle brush.

Happy grilling.... love my Q’s!
