Rubber sheet hanging down from tank

Just noticed there's a rubber (I believe) sheet hanging down from a gray tank under the RV. Looks like it was held there by some tacky glue. Any idea what that's for? Picked up some spray adhesive to put it back in place, just don't understand why its there. It's about 10 inches wide by x long.

Any thoughts on what this is? Thanks in advance!

Same here - 1/2 of my tank pad on the fresh water tank is hanging down. Thank goodness for the beam holding the other 1/2. Another crappy job by the installers. I need to locate the pads on the gray/black tanks before they disappear. Barely (2) year old RV, wonder how many folks have lost these pads all together. Likely a pain in the butt to reinstall/wire up.

I had the same problem with my 2016 Jayco Greyhawk 31FS. It was the heater pad and like someone else said....used EternaBond tape. Been holding up fine since then.

Must be contagious - like the flu. Mine just came loose last week. It was hanging completely off, connected with just a wire. How can I tell where I should re-attach it? It's a Redhawk 26XD.

Your lucky it was still there. I can only guess but on my fresh water tank it was in the middle at the bottom. The lowest point of any of the tanks would be my best guess.

Looks like one more thing to add to our “pre-flight” check list before a road trip... Ugghh

Just a thought, but look at the tank for glue residue. That should tell you where it was placed.

I had to stick ours better when I did the first oil change and checked everything underneath good...they were peeling at the corners. Yes, seems very contagious!

2018 Redhawk 26XD. Same problem. 2,000 miles. At dealer being "fixed" as we speak.

Half of my freshwater heater pad came loose also. Some of it was chewed off by the driveshaft, more of it was being melted on the exhaust pipe.

There are specific instructions which come with these pads which describe how to prep the surface of the tank before attaching the pad. I have a copy of the instructions which came with the replacement pad I had to buy.

I have No doubt that no prep whatsoever is performed at the factory.
