Quite likely a lot of RVs were destroyed in the hurricanes etc.

Premiums have been going up for all types of insurance due to the various bad weather/storms, etc., across the nation. Our HO insurance was ~$350/yr in 2006 when we moved into the current house, now it's $1000+. Auto was $350 +/- for a year several years ago, now it's $350 for 6 months.

Central Illinois area around Peoria suffered heavy hail damage last April ( mine was $7K.) Local dealers are booked for months for repairs. Based on that, I won't be surprised if my insurance goes up.

$1,000 a year.....OMG!!!!!!! I live in south Florida and just got my renewal notice. A mere $6,800 a year and hoping they don't cancel me. Never had a claim. The cars are about $1,000 each.
As I sit here and add all my insurances together, insurance may be my single largest expense.

The old saying was death and taxes. Now it should be "death, taxes, and insurance"

Progressive wants another $200 from us this year after several years. We are switching to State Farm at the rate we used to pay Progressive.

Always pays to shop around every few years. Some companies give lower quotes to new customers than existing ones because they know most people are too lazy to take thier business elsewhere.

Good advice!
I've now been from State Farm...to Allstate...to USAA...and now to Geico.
I think it's funny that whenever I've canceled my policy with ALL of the above listed companies for cheaper rates...They all tell me that "I'll be back." And I always tell them that may be true if/when they lower/price match!

Have you looked at Good Sam's Insurance (National General Insurance). They let you go to comp only when in storage, saving a bunch of greenbacks. Been using it for years and are very happy.
