Scangauge II ?

I was just looking at this. Does anyone know if this is a good one to purchase? Is there any other ones out there that are better ones to get? I am hoping to get some GREAT advice on what everyone is using or should I not even think about it. I don't want one that I can use with my phone because I want my phone for other things to use like finding a place to overnight camp or find an easy off and on gas station. Thanks for the help.....

I have a cheapo I got of Amazon for $20. It shows you a number, look it up online, then if you can fix it. It also allows you to cancel bogus service lights that pop up from time to time. Basic, no batteries, no apps, plug an play.

The scanguage is a pretty cool unit. My buddy bought one years ago and has loved it. He had a car with limited gauges and read outs and the scan gauge displayed the values he wanted to know about. They are all there being recorded by sensors and sent to the computer, this is just a way of displaying them digitally.

I recently installed the Scan Gauge D in the Accolade because the Freightliner Message Center has much to be desired and limited functionality. During our recent outing I has the SG set to read Batt Voltage, Trans Fluid Temp, MPG and Gallons per Hour. At the end of the day I could cycle through and get the distance driven and average speed as well as other info. I am still. learning how to use the SG but so far (one trip) I feel it was well worth the investment in its ability to display 4 measures at the same time and not having to be distracted with cycling through some message center.

Definitely a keeper.

I definitely recommend the Scangauge. I have one in my Mustang (reading boosted intercooler air temp) and in my Greyhawk (reading transmission fluid temperature).
Also, their MPH readout is more accurate than the dashboard gauge.

THANK YOU for your input I think with all the input I will have to invest in one for sure. Looks like the one for me. Well as soon as my check comes with n from the government first thing I will purchase. There I will help out the economy. Thanks again for the help in my decision. I’ve heard good things about SG II as well. I was just about to get a dedicated tranny temp gauge, but this offers a lot more. Anyone using it with a Ford 7.3l diesel?
