Schwintek Slide Out

Greeting fellow travellers, A question if I may....has anyone had problems with their slide outs grinding (really bad) and excessively slow in operation and failing to go out or come in. Particularly interested in the Schwintek system....unknown if it is the "slide out of choice" in the US but I have been told that certain parts are only available from there....just interested as we are having our slide outs "looked at" currently and have been told the rollers in our model are smaller than the new model, so Jayco are changing the rollers in the new model because of the problem with them.
If anyone has a video of how the slide outs are fitted, I would appreciate having a look.
Many thanks

Welcome. Had a few issues this past year, but none with grinding. I had the common "sync" issues and one motor was replaced due to a wire ripping out. One key issue that you can prevent is the "sync" by always completing the motion of either in or out and holding the button for an additional 3 seconds to keep them in sync. Do not stop and start as this will eventually lead to issues.

If they are really slow you might have an issue with the "sync" and the dealer should fix easily if that is the issue. If it's a big slide it might just be geared down to handle the weight.

Here is link to Schwinteck 101.

We had grinding noise and very slow operation, and eventually failure to slide out on our 2011 DS. Dealer replaced motors, failed, replaced motors again and synchronizes, failed again, replaced bent shaft and gears, ok now except for poor fit at bottom/rear of slide. Too many days and weeks spent on this bad design. Missed months of use. Hope it's been redesigned for you.
