I have a 2020 Jayco 26XD. I have the small schwintec bedroom slide. The controller is under the bed (I think I've looked everywhere else and I don't see it.). So far the slide has been working fine. Is there another way to find out if this issue applies to my slide without pulling the bed all apart?

My rig is a 2021 Melbourne 24L. I contacted Lippert about this bulletin including a photo of my slide controller, part # 13398-DO. They informed my controller is a 10 amp unit and the bulletin does not apply to it.

Where might they hide my slide controller. 24B

I’m finally getting close to my service date, this Thursday, for my slide. One side moves the side to the rear does not. I checked nothing blocking the movement, no drawers open or such items.
I’ve been told reset the controller, then I saw this post.
Well, I’ve searched for the controller without success, with my warranty expired I was hoping it’s a small fix, but my experience over owning RV’s for over 4 decades makes me think NOT!
So anyone have suggestions on where they his the controller?

Looks like I need to update my profile, as well.

LouRobin, we have a Melbourne 24L and the slide controller is under the foot of the bed. To access our controller the mattress has to be folded up and the plywood top has to be unscrewed. In this cavity is where the slide controller is located. Also in this area is the fresh water tank and automatic transfer relay box. Not a very accessible location.

Follow the wire coming from the drive motor. The motor is on top of the H column, the wire runs down inside the column and exits near the floor. I would not be surprised if the wire is disconnected.

The drive motor is not held down very well. There is a screw into the motor casing that looks more like a field repair than a design feature. If the screw is missing the motor turns and winds up the motor wire and it breaks.

Or it may just be the vonnecot at the bottom of the H col. Or maybe the plug into the controller.

Good luck!

We have a 2021 RedHawk 24B and the controller is in the same area as the water pump.

The bulletin is about more than the controller. We have a 2021 Red Hawk 24B with a large slide like yours. It has had problems since new. It failed catastrophically when we were in New Mexico. The Schwintek mechanism is not the best choice for a large slide. The warranty expired 8 days B4 it failed. We contacted Jayco and they asked if we were aware of this bulletin. We said no and they replied that if the bulletin was followed it may not have failed. Jayco extended the warranty for 90 days because of the problems we had. After it is repaired we will have a Vroom mechanism installed.

I have a 2018 Melbourne 24L. it has a full length slide out and I have had issues from day one with my schwintek slide system. It is too weak a system for the weight of a slide with this length. Went back to the dealer and they replaced the entire system? why? I don't think they knew what they were doing replacing it. It has never worked right. Often failing when out or not going out. A major problem was not just the schwintek system but the way Jayco installed the slide. Not enough support for the weight. Just had a Vroom system installed in San Diego at RV Specialist they did an excellent job with instillation. Cost was $6,100.00 for system and upgrades to structure. Hope it is worth the expense. At least we can not use the rig without worry.
