Seneca 2018.5 radio noise from alternator.

Hello. I purchased a new Seneca 2018.5 model last year and have noticed the radio has a high pitched noise that fluctuates with the RPMs of the vehicle. As the RPM get higher, the pitch gets higher. It is extremely annoying. In my high school days of my tinkering with stereos, we would have this problem if there was a bad ground to the system. It would send ambient noise back through the speakers from the alternator (I was told)? Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone had this fixed?

I had the exact same problem with a 2018.5 Seneca and it was a bad ground. I ran a new dedicated ground wire from the fire wall to the unit...problem solved!

I tried the ground situation and it didn’t help mine. Go to your front tv and unplug the yellow RCA jack on the back of the tv....this is what’s causing the whine. This took care it it on ours.
