Seneca 6.7 ISB oil change

M2 owners who do their own maintenance. Can someone tell me how to change the oil filter? I can see the filter directly from the bottom, but it does not appear that the filter has groves for any filter wrench to grab onto, unless I just cant see them. I dont appear to have a wrench big enough to go around this one if it does in fact have some groves to grab. I was planning on grabbing it from the side with a strap wrench like I do on the Onan, but with the intake in the way, the bottom appears to be the only way. Any insight to this, and the tool required to make it happen would be great.

I am getting ready to do mine soon. I have looked things over and I have another vehicle that is like this and I use a 3 leg oil filter wrench, they work great. Looking at my Seneca, this wrench and a long extension should work great.

I used a similar tool for my oil change. Got it from local auto parts store. It has shorter legs that have gripping edges. It is spring loaded to close up on the smooth filter. Use with a extension to access the filter.

Worked great.

That's what I use for my 6.7 diesel filter. Works great.

Anyone try K&N oil filter for these ?
Looks like HP-8033 is for OEM # 3280V8394 (not sure what our OEM number is though).

I love the 1" nut welded on the bottom of their filters.... makes it super easy.

Here is a listing of the filters on my 2014. Maybe it will help cross-reference to the K&N.

Autozone sells a 24-quart container for a very reasonable price. You can do both the chassis engine and the generator. Works very well. Here is a link: https://www.autozone.com/shop-and-ga...ner/489209_0_0

I have found a 5 gallon bucket works well. Sometimes it's windy and the wind can blow the draining oil onto the driveway if drained into a drain pan well below the filter and/or drain plug.
Cut the top off a 2-liter pop bottle when removing the oil filter. Place the pop bottle over the filter after it is loosened. It will catch filter drips when removing the filter.
