Seneca Chassis Battery switch

I was reading through the 2016 M2 chassis owners manual and it reads that there may be a chassis battery cutoff switch depending on model of M2. I wanted too see if anyone knew of a battery cutoff switch for the chassis batteries.

I have a 2014 and in my Freightliner manual it also refers to a possible battery switch. My chassis was not optioned with that from Freightliner and I have never seen one on any Senecas I have looked at.

Before I retired from the fire department we bought a new pumper built on a Freightliner M2 chassis and it did have a battery cutoff switch located near the driver's seat base by the door. It was very obvious what is was.

If our units had a Freightliner-installed battery cutoff switch it would look like the picture in the attachment I copied from the Freightliner Body Builder literature.

Thoughts on the magnitude of phantom power drains from the chassis batteries? Do folks routinely pull the neg cable when in extended storage as a precaution?

My 2014 36FK does have the switch and as above it is right inside the driver's door, can't miss it.

Yes, disconnect the negative. My 2017 Class C will drain the battery below 12 volts in two weeks otherwise. The dealer provided a new battery in march, the voltage drop was much worse before that. When the rig is accessible to me I keep it plugged in about 50% of the time. If not feasible I disconnect the negative. Later, Jay Edit, sorry I was referring to the coach battery.

So even with the disconnect switch open, the phantom drains are that large? Interesting.

So sorry, need to work on my reading skills, lol. My post was referring to the Coach battery. Jay P.S. I haven't had the need to disconnect the negative because shore power has always been available since the weather broke.

No Freightliner installed battery cutoff switch on our Seneca either. We always have our's plugged into shorepower, except during electrical storms.
