Seneca hot floor

My wife complaints the floor gets hot on the passenger side, and indeed it is pretty warm. On a trip back from Williams, AZ it was uncomfortable to lay your hand on the carpet on that side. Anyone else have this issue with the Freightliner M2 chassis?

Stacy has commented on the floor being hot... and yes it does.

The Exhaust and Turbo assembly is all on the passenger side of the motor. The heat is disbursed by the air coming thru the radiator and it naturally flows downwards and under the floor of the cab (mostly on the passenger side).

On long - all day driving, the floor will be warm under the carpet, especially when the outside temperatures are 100F+. It does not help a huge difference, but I have put the AC vents on floor/dash to make her happy. In the winter... she is much happier and still wears flip/flops when the snow is falling.

I did not have the issue when traveling but did when we stopped. You could feel the heat radiating from the cab floor. I pulled back the carpet and added padding and insulation under the carpet. I used 3 x 4 ft pieces of street relief padding that is used by people standing on hard floors. This added almost 1 inch material under the carpet and has reduced the sound and heat transfer.
