Seneca - How to access back of outdoor TV

We wanted to remove the outdoor TV while rewiring some things, and the power plug is hard wired to the back of the TV... so... we should be able to unplug it somewhere, right?

Where oh Where does the power cord go, and how do we access that plug??

We can't reach it from outside (especially since I'm the one holding the TV up while DH is digging around looking for the power plug), and on the inside is a couch (bolted to the floor) and paneling with no seams.

Has anyone replaced their outdoor TV or gained access to the wiring for it??

I did replace my original 32" outside TV with a 39" Vizio on an articulating bracket so it can be moved to a more advantageous viewing position. Here is a picture album of my modification.

http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/me...lbums1061.html

As far as the power plug in my 2014, the outlet is in the corner back by the kitchen counter (to the left of the TV as you face it outside). It is mounted against the outside wall of the slideout. I stood on a small stepladder outside reaching into the opening where the TV was mounted. My hand was barely able to reach the plug with the TV unbolted (my wife was holding it then).

When I put the new TV in I made up a small extension cord, plugged it into the outlet and put the receptacle end where it was easy to get to in case I ever need to take it out again!

Any help I can give, just let me know.

If Jayco used the exact size exterior cabinet, and I suspect that they did, the hard part may be finding a TV that fits between the lift struts and is large enough for your viewing tastes. With the trend of the exterior bezel shrinking on newer TVs, maybe there are 40" models that would work today.

What size is in there now? Did they upgrade the 2015 to something more than my original 32" model?

TV was increased to a 39" unit starting in 2016. I think it is still a furrion.

My 2014 had really cheap ContinuUS TVs for all 3, now I have a 40" Samsung on the bunk motor-out bracket, the 39" Vizio outside on its articulating mount, and a 26" Samsung in the bedroom also on an articulating mount so we can see it sitting on the bed. The bedroom also has a soundbar mounted above the wardrobe directly facing the bed. You can see it in the pictures below.

My next A/V project is a soundbar for up front. Yes, I'm nuts, just ask my wife!

Seneca - How to access back of outdoor TV

Funny how we complain about led tvs now when 10 years ago we would still be flipping channels on crt screens with horrible size and video quality. Even the crappy led or LCD were better than the crt units.

Great job with the arm in the bedroom unit. Visibility much better with that arm. I am glad they moved the location to directly centered in the room in the new models . It will be intersecting to see how much we even use the tvs.

Since our FK has things in different places than the TS - our outlet for the TV was plugged into a Surge Protector / Power Strip to add some versatility for phone charging and stuff in the outdoor compartment. We found a low profile unit and mounted it on the side wall, where the struts don't interfere at all.

We did that when we added additional outdoor speakers and an outdoor sub-woofer, wiring behind the radio.

All our TV's are Insignia, I think (a brand I'm not familiar with, anyway).

Insignia brand is the private label for "Best Buy". Most is pretty good to very good quality too.

Indoor TVs are Furrion. Outside is Isignia with a sticker on the back that reads "Best Buy Recycle".
